On: Whether the Mountains are Really Mountains

There is that old expression, "Don't make mountains out of molehills." Easily understandable, tossed onto the tile in front of anyone that is perceived as being "overdramatic". Some problems are large though, some tasks will be a fight until one day they aren't. Sometimes we must thrash and struggle against what is natural.

Writing is that way. Becoming known is that way. Being published is that way. Or so I've heard.

This is why I have to push myself this year. I will finish Dark Valley. I will. That might not happen this year, but it will happen.

My resolutions in terms of writing? To keep to my schedule, to make up for it when I cannot. To surround myself with things that fit what I envision the Dark Valley universe to be (more on this in an upcoming blog post). To develop, develop, develop. Write more character bios, write vignettes that won't make it into the book, write anything that helps me know my characters better.

I can assure that I feel more sure of where the story is headed than I did a month ago. Things have been developing. It's exciting.

So updates: I have a tumblr now. If you have one as well you should follow along. This could be where patron exclusive content is uploaded. It might even be where extra Dark Valley pieces go. Definitely worth it then, huh? And in case you weren't aware I have a twitter as well. Twitter is where I'm the most active, but I'm working on that.

I'm trying to let you guys see what's going on with me. It'll keep me more accountable for chapters if you guys can see exactly how I'm slacking off. Hopefully.
